Entry 2: Setting the Scene

Welcome to the party ladies.  I have selected this beach house over-looking the ocean to host this party.  It's a beautiful warm day with a gentle breeze.  I hope you don't mind, I've got the sliding glass doors open so we can hear the waves crashing and the birds tweeting.   I just got up from a nap, so please excuse me, I'm running a little behind schedule.

I've got some easy listening music playing in the background with a bit of tropical flavor.  Feel free to change the station if you want.

Meagan's Mom and sisters decorated the room. Isn't it lovely?  The blue, green and yellow balloons are tied to the patio railing and in all 4 corners of the room.    I especially like the "It's a Boy" mylar balloons on the cake and punch table.  Each has a different animal on it.  The blue and brown tissue paper pom poms hanging from the ceiling are super cute. I bet Meag can use those in the nursery!

Ryan's sisters put together the lovely centerpieces for the tables. The yellow roses are beautiful. There will be a chance for you to take one of the six home by answering questions during the shower.

Check out the cake! Looks delicious! Gwen made it!

Meagan should be here soon.  In the meantime, please grab a drink and some appetizers and talk to the other guests! If you brought your children with you.... there is a babysitter right over there!  Yes... that is Minnie Mouse... and yes, she is babysitting our kids for free!

Oh and before you go, don't forget to grab a yummy favor. Kristin Pfeltz made these for everyone!Yum!  They are calorie-free just like the cake!

  2. I am just loving the calorie free desserts. But watch out ladies, I am going to win a prize in the games. You have done so much work Kristin! Meagan is lucky to have a friend like you. - Jessi and Saylor

  4. Love the cake and the party favors. I could kiss whomever made them but I'll wait until I get home and hop on the scale to see if they really are calorie free. :) Do we get to play the diaper game? That's my favorite!!!

  5. Whew !!! I am so tired. Baking that cake and putting all the decorations was such a job, but also a joy. Meagan, I hope you like it. Ladies I tried to take some of the calories out of the cake, but I had a little trouble. So . . . eat up !!!

    Love,

    Gwen

  9. Wow - it looks beautiful! Sorry I'm late, but traffic was crazy. Gwen outdid herself on that cake - a perfect tribute to our new little boy. Can't wait to start the games - are we going to wrap Meag's belly in toilet paper? Love catching up with everyone and sharing baby stories...

  10. Mary and I must have been stuck in the same stretch of traffic! As I always say, 'better late than never' ... (though really, how rude of us, we are the ones 'making an entrance' and Meag is normally the one to do that - especially at this, her own virtual baby shower!). One question ... you mention 'drinks' - are we talking mimosas? If so, I'll help myself to two. One for me. And one for Meag (she can't drink right now, for obvious reasons, but I don't want her to feel left out!). ~ Darcy Clark

  11. Love the blue, green, and yellow, because as Meagan and Ryan know, just blue and yellow would give me a little anxiety. ;-) The oceanfront is beautiful and I love an ocean breeze. I'll take a mimosa and toast to Baby Boy L.

I'm going swimming after we open presents! I hope my bikini still fits after all those cake pops.
